ManuFacturer Of Fairtrade Cotton
The Fairtrade mark is an independent consumer label which appears on products to show that disadvantaged producers are getting a better deal from trade. We, at Lavino Kapur are proud to manufacture Fairtrade cotton products.
Fairtrade was founded in response to the injustices faced by farmers, producers and workers in countries around the world: unfair prices, poverty wages and poor working conditions. Fairtrade is a global movement represented by the Fairtrade Foundation.
The Fairtrade system is built around the belief that small-scale farmers and workers deserve better trading conditions. Fairtrade empowers producers to have a stronger voice in international trade, and to work their way out of poverty. And it creates opportunities for consumers to get involved in making a difference.
More than 1.65 Million Farmers and workers, who are the backbone of Fairtrade. This is a growing group year on year. They deserve the respect and care as they have done for us.
26% of all farmers and workers in Fairtrade are women- 48% on plantations & 23% in small farmer organizations. Women are actively involved in decision making about the use of Fairtrade Premium funds, and make a huge contribution to the running of producer organizations.
Fairtrade has been embraced by 1,226 Producer Organizations in 76 countries. All of these are Fairtrade certified.
Small producer organizations spent 31% of their Fairtrade premium on investments in supporting productivity or quality improvements such as farm tools, agrochemicals, seeds/planting materials, land improvement and irrigation equipment.
Plantations meanwhile spend 26% on education (school fees, equipment etc).
Fairtrade has proven to the world that trading can be fair and just. It has proven that consumers care about where their money goes when they buy a product. And it has provided better jobs, safety and security for the people it has helped.
